Becoming more knowledgeable and savvy about the technical side of the Internet is useful even for the more casual user. The need to keep one self update with the developments within the industry is more pertinent now due to the speed at which technology is developing. It is for this reason that understanding some of the more basics concepts of the Internet is relevant and worth knowing about – even if its at its most basic level. This article will look at what a proxy server is all about and outline its basic functions below.
In terms of explaining what an actual proxy server is, it is an intermediate channel that is used to forward and direct traffic between computers on a particular network. Many assume that proxy servers are only there to serve anonymous and random Internet surfing, but this is not the case. They are used regularly for caching and web filtering. A caching proxy server is used to help speed up the downloading time of a web page. This is done by caching linked and related static data files such as HTML and images. In your own web browser, there will also be a cache but this works more personally, whereas a caching proxy is applicable to any user on that network by caching files and images that have already be requested, thus speeding up the web page uploading process. To explain this more simply, should a user land on a particular website such as www.nationalgeographic.com and then other user lands on that same website using the same computer or network some time later, the second user will have a quicker upload time due to the caching proxy being in place.
Web filtering proxy servers might be more familiar to some as these are what block unwanted or spam websites from appearing in your browser. They do however have a much wide function that may be less well known. A web filtering proxy server also serves to filter unwanted adverts and spam by blocking certain websites when requested by a user if they are either deemed as being a blocked site by the filtering proxy or contains words/phrases that that web filtering proxy is programmed to block.
In the greater scheme of things, all proxy servers have one fundamental purpose in common; to filter what your receive in your browser but just in different ways as outlined above. It is helpful to understand the function that any type of proxy server serves in encouraging a more user-friendly experience whilst browsing on the Internet so that you become a more knowledgeable Internet user.

Link building is an essential tool for optimizing SEO strategy or Search Engine Optimization for any website. It is intricate process, however, and it is important that a clear understanding of link theory exists in order for it work well. Knowing how the links will work and where best to place them takes time and research but the pay-off is well worth the effort.

Link theory suggests that there is a specific way of building links so that they garner the desired results. These include increasing your website’s visibility online, improving your website’s credibility with search engines and users alike and also increasing traffic to your website.

In , you will be able to optimize link building by taking care to note important factors like what your intentions are by creating the links, where your links are placed and keyword density on your website.

Tips For Building Better Links

Ensure that the links you build take users to pages that are relevant and dense with keywords. This will help improve the credibility of your site and retain users. Users tend to use the same sources for information once they consider them to be reputable. They will also refer other users to your website for this same reason.

Try to be as diverse as possible in placing your links with external sources. At the same time, remember to place your links with sources that are relevant and reputable as well. By doing so you will increase the popularity of your links and thereby improve your rankings on search results pages.

Make use of trusted and popular websites to place your links with. If a user finds one website credible and helpful, they will feel the same about referrals given by that site. This means that the credibility of your website will also improve.

Use internal links in the body of text that users are directed to. In this way you can increase your visibility and relevance with search engines. Having a sound understanding of link theory will help in this case because you will be able to build internal links that will keep users browsing within your website.

If you have come across web hosting you may have heard the term Ip addresse mentioned a few times. While owning a website itself, does not require you to understand what an Ip address and C-Class Ip address in particular is all about, it never hurts to have a more thorough understanding of how websites work. If you are a more serious website owner, or you wish to know more about Internet marketing then understanding what Ip addresses is all about and having is useful information to know.
In order to put C Class Ip addresses into context, a brief overview of Ip address will be provided. An Ip address is more formally referred to as an Internet Protocol address. What this means is that once a user has typed in the URL of a website, the internet converts this URL into an IP address in order to locate which server that website is being stored on. This is a necessary part of the process as without finding where the actual file for that website is being stored, the website cannot download successful. Usually when a URL is being coverted into a unique IP address, it consists of a 32-bit number that is broken up into four-octets (i.e. 8-bit sections) ranging from numbers 0 – 255; for example 294.365.17.252
Now that a basic understanding of Ip addresses has been laid out, continue reading as the C Class Ip is explained. While class A is reserved for a small number of networks that have a substantially large amount of computers attached to it and class B is used for networks that have an intermediate number of computers attached, class C Ip is the opposite; i.e. a large number of networks that have a limited number of computers or servers attached. Each class will be assigned a certain range of numbers to help identify which class a particular Ip address belongs to. For example, a class C Ip address will have numbers ranging between 192 and 223 as its first octet. The first three octets are usually used to identify the network in question. In other words, 2 080 800 networks or addresses are possible, with each network being able to support 254 computers as a c class Ip address.
This is – although there is naturally a lot more involved – but as a beginner it is important to get to grips with the basics first before going into the process of Ip addresses in more detail. Ip addresses fullfill an important role and help to piece together the process involved from typing in a URL to the loading of the website page, thereby having a clearer understanding of what goes on behind the scenes.
